The Buffalo Soldiers of the 9th and 10th Regiment, a black unit was created after the Civil War.
The soldiers fought in the Spanish American War, assisted with the expansion of the west,and contribute to the Indian War of the Great Plains. Native Americans were impressed with the courage and tenacity of these men and honor them with the name "Buffalo Soldiers".
Today, the Tampa Chapter is a non-profit (501)c organization, that is committed to fostering patriotism,courage, and self reliance in our youth by:
Supporting local schools and youth organization that promote sound mind, body, and spirit.
Exemplifying high moral standards, respect for God and country while promotingcommunity involvement.
We participate in community events such as the Veterans Day and Memorial Day Ceremony,Kid Fest, Brandon 4th of July day Parade, American Cancer Society Walkathon,and the Martin Luther King Center School Supply Giveaway, Junior Buffalo Soldiers at Cahoon Elementary School.
